Faces of Rap Mothers Fathers Edition is a powerful anthology honoring the influential roles of fathers within the rap and hip-hop community. Through intimate narratives, personal reflections, and behind-the-scenes insights, this volume celebrates the men whose presence, perseverance, and passion have shaped both the music industry and their families.
From lyrical mentors to cultural anchors, these fathers represent the heartbeat of hip-hop’s legacy. Their stories—often untold—reveal the triumphs, struggles, and generational impact of fatherhood in a genre built on truth and resilience.
About the Author – Candy Strother DeVore-Mitchell is the founder and CEO of Faces of Rap Mothers Enterprise, a California corporation encompassing publishing, television, and music. As the visionary behind the Faces of Rap Mothers brand, Candy has created a platform that amplifies underrepresented voices in rap and hip-hop culture.
Inspired by her family’s deep ties to the civil rights movement and her own journey as a mother, Candy expanded the series to include fathers—recognizing their pivotal role in shaping artists, families, and communities. Her work spans literature, television (Faces of Rap Mothers Television Network on Roku), and music (Faces of Rap Mothers Music Group), with a mission rooted in empowerment, diversity, and legacy.
